Hardwood flooring is designed to withstand minimal moisture levels. When it comes in contact with excessive levels of moisture it will "cup" and with improper drying will "crown" once it has shrunk on the underside. This before photo shows flooring that has cupped or formed a "u" shape due to absorption of water making it expand. SERVPRO's mat drying system allows us to salvage the majority of the flooring, sand the uneven areas and re-stain the floors with a stain of the homeowners choosing.
