The joints that form together to create a water-tight bond do not form that same bond with walls, doorways and transition strips. Water gains access at these weak points and seeps underneath to the sub-floor. Leaving an affected area untreated creates the perfect conditions for a mold breeding ground. Mold thrives in damp, humid areas where moisture is abundant.
